In what must be the most discouraging data-set so far in the campaign, according to the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity report, Alabama is 47th in entrepreneurial activity. Thank goodness for Mississippi. Our other neighbors (Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida) though double the entrepreneurial activity of Alabama. While the South leads the nation in such healthy activity, our state trailed almost all others states.
We cannot have resilient local economies without a thriving entrepreneurial sector. Entrepreneurs are capable of rapid response; large behemoth corporations are not.
