Entrepreneurship builds communities

When developing policy, our elected officials act holistically. They must look beyond the promises of new jobs by big corporations. Every legislator must also consider the impact every policy and enactment will have upon our communities and families, as well.  We need job creation initiatives which enable our communities and families to develop greater interdependence to each other.

As demonstrated in this article, small business growth through empowered entrepreneurship strengthens communities as well as creating jobs. To withstand the economy of the 21st century, our community’s resilience to outside and global markets should be a priority. I agree with the conclusion of the article:

Given the depths of this recession, we need to help entrepreneurs around the globe once again thrive. Small business growth is the key to rebuilding communities that have been devastated by unemployment.
